Welcome any new readers that have made it to my blog. I hope you've enjoyed the posts so far. I know I've been a little behind on the entries, I'm hoping to catch up and provide more recipes and videos for those of you looking for simple and delicious things to make in the kitchen!
This weekend I wanted to make my first YouTube how-to video; and I did it! I wanted something that the viewers would be able to follow and wanted to show something that is often thought to be elaborate, just how easy it can be...enter a salted caramel sauce.
Caramel sauce gets a bad wrap! People think a caramel sauce is too hard to make or requires extensive skill- NOT TRUE! Caramel is made up of a few ingredients and all that is required is some time, patience and love...(I know, I know...cheeseball). So here is my go-to recipe- give it a try, watch the video on YouTube and let me know how things go!
Caramel Sauce
2 cups granulated sugar
12 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup water
1 cup heavy create (room temperature)
1 teaspoon corn syrup
1 Tablespoon sea salt such as Fleur de Sel
Tools:
1 heavy bottomed sauce pan
whisk
wooden spoon
candy thermometer (optional)
Check out the step by step directions on how-to make this sauce on the Bakergirl Concepts YouTube channel.
Cook. Eat. Enjoy.
